About us

MISSION

Fetterman Dunn partners with mission-driven organizations to strengthen systems, guide strategic decisions, and build capacity for long-term impact. Our practice is shaped by the recognition that progress happens when people, purpose, and practical execution reinforce one another. We work alongside clients to achieve that balance through discipline, clarity, and trusted relationships that keep mission at the center.

what sets us apart

  • Experience That Matters:  We understand the operational complexity leaders navigate because we’ve lived it ourselves. That firsthand experience shapes how we work.
  • Relational Partnership: Our role extends beyond technical assistance. We serve as trusted advisors providing steadiness, counsel, and sustained support through complexity and change.
  • Systems Thinking: We help leaders understand how culture, strategy, operations, and funding interact and how strengthening one area can unlock progress across the whole.
  • Human-Centered Design: We design with, not for. Those closest to the work shape the solutions, ensuring initiatives reflect real context and lived experience.

OUR STORY

Fetterman Dunn was founded by Blake Fetterman and Jay Dunn after decades of direct leadership in community-based organizations. Their collective background — spanning program design, capital planning, regional systems development, and public affairs — guides the firm’s commitment to building practical pathways from strategy to sustained results.

Blake Fetterman  |  Principal

Blake brings two decades of experience leading social service organizations through transformation and growth. She previously served as director of The Salvation Army’s largest multi-service center, strengthening a complex network of programs supporting thousands of families. She headed local emergency response initiatives, served on regional and national crisis response task forces, and built coalitions that strengthen community safety nets. Recognized for steady leadership during challenging transitions, she combines strategic thinking with operational expertise to help organizations navigate change while maintaining service excellence. As principal of Fetterman Dunn, she guides organizations through planning, program development, and sustainable growth. Blake holds a master’s degree in clinical psychology, maintains her license as a marriage and family therapist, and has completed executive training in human-centered design, public interest communications, and adaptive leadership.

Jay Dunn  |  Principal

His work integrates policy expertise with operational excellence, having led partnerships with state and local governments, care networks, and philanthropic investors to transform housing and behavioral health services.
